I had a budgie but it died.

I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I depleted the world's supply of exclamation marks. My extended hiatus from the blogosphere was mainly due to internet faliure and incoming year 7 graduation (I know, I'm small.)I did'nt really mind the break though. I heard that old Aristotle quote 'We are what we repeatedly do'and I wondered if I really wanted to be just a blogger but I don't think I'm quitting anytime soon.
Anyway on with the stuff...

Okay super thanks to Peaitlreiecnia author of the amazing always interesting AWKWARD DIGGRESSIONS? blog for this shiny award, see I've never been tagged before but I'm just gonna follow these regulations.....

Write 6 things that make you a happy chappie.

Then award 6 'kreativ'*wince* bloggers.

Then include a link to your kind friend that deemed you 'kreativ"*eurghh* enough for an award.

Then add the links of those you have awarded an tell them in some way they have been tagged.

6 Things That Make Me Happy...

1. Seeing my baby sister Miriam being all cute and stuff

2. The Moomintroll books by Tove Janson that I read as a kid and still read regularly.

3.When you're at a dull as dead people function and you make a bored little kid laugh.

4. When you make some friends who are as crazy as you.

5. Spongebob marathons. There I said it. Don't tell anyone.

6. Thinking about the future, the one where the cities have fallen and we have lost power over nature.

(I don't have a picture for that at the moment)

So yeah.

Now I'm going to tagwagon...

My Best friend Maggie and her Weirdology blog

The super cute Pink Lemonade Stand blog

Awesomely Awesome Tokyobunnie blog

Maddie's music/life blog: Irrelevant twaddle from yours truly

The POP CULTURE BLOG (what I imagine my blog would be like if I was cool :)

And finally Filosofia a smart thought -provoking blog

And there you have it. I'm going to sleep now.

The Trapdoor or I have turned into an old whinger

I don't remember any important or momentous things that happened in my early youth (like,5 or 6) but I do remember this show. It's original and entertaining plus the theme song is so bad it's good. My favorite character is Boni followed closely by the thing upstairs . I remember sitting and watching this a very long time ago along with Rugrats,Daria,The Angry Beavers and Rocko's Modern Life. They were so good, the kids TV shows at the moment are banal and stupid the originality, quality and intelligence has deteriorated but it's meant to be the other way around, there should be better shows now...We've devolved and it's annoying.
Anyway what was meant to be an appraisal of how good The Trapdoor is has become an extended lament about the state of childrens programs today.
What are everyone else's favorite bygone cartoons?

My Pet Monster he's a friend you can depend! My Pet Monster he's a monster of a friend!

Lol I want one of these so much! They stopped making them in the 80's so they can be hard to come by now but there are some on ebay. If I ever do get one I promise not to channel Julian Hamilton and wear it on my head on national television.
Actually if the chance arose.....

"The Birds! The Birds!"

Possibly even better than those mutilated Barbies with melted hair that are hidden in the untidy rooms the world over , is this 'Hitchcock Barbie' inspired by the Alfred Hitchcock classic The Birds.
This is only a blueprint though, fingers crossed Mattel decides to sell these.

Dusk Til Dawn 2

While the official video is really cool (Pip Brown a.k.a. Ladyhawke stars in her own little B-Grade horror musical) this second take is heaps better cause' it stars her family and friends! I have'nt really heard of a muso doing this before. The tune itself is super catchy which is what you can expect from the kiwi queen of 80's revivalism (seriously she makes legwarmers and synthesizers seem like they were invented this year). Anyways take a look you might recognize some familiar faces such as Sia Furler and Dev Hynes.
bang bang bang on the wall....

Coffee Things

This thing (above) is so cool it's actually an espresso machine....for mad scientists! It looks so much better than the brick things with all the pointless settings. And while we're on the subject how good is the caffeine molecule bling and awesome 'I am not a paper cup' ceramic 'mug' up top both from Thinkgeek.

Kepa Rasmussen & his crazy masks

These nightmare masks by Kepa Rasmussen make me wish I did Halloween, they're awesome. Kepa makes a living out of creating "Wearable sculptures and topologically extruded masks" yeah I'm a bit jealous.

I'm Hungry

Wow I never thought I'd see the day when somebody would make a ring with an Oreo on it! Well actually I never thought about it that much. Most of these things wouldn't suit me at all but if I saw anyone else wearing these I might eat the jewelery off of them.
They're actually pretty cheap and they're hand-made.You get them at Ku-Ki Shop.

A lot of journals

This is amazing, way back in August 2000 some guy thought it would be cool to send out 100 journals into the world with an instruction fill a page then pass it on. Now there are 1000 journals out there revolving around the planet being filled with dreams, fears, guilts, loves and hates some people even included pictures, strands of hair, movie tickets, food wrappers and mixtapes. You can try and get through all 1000 of them on the 1000 Journals Project website. I think I only worked through about 20...It's super interesting though definitely check it out. Apparently you can still get them if you feel like continuing the legacy.

I want a Pegleg

Well not really but I want one of these blazers from Pegleg NY. The lumberjack pattern thing has been going crazy for a while now in various colours but never all at once! I like.

Kris Moyes Fan Club

In my mind Kris Moyes is a modern hero of music video (and other stuff) directing like up there with Gondry and Jonze and co. He has directed videos for Sia, Hercules & Love Affair,Wolfmother,Cut Copy, a super crazy one for Architecture In Helsinki and an equally psychedelic clip for The Softlightes. Plus he is catching up to big brother K.I.M. in the fame department. now go watch some videos now on his site or on the tube...I recommend Softlightes Microwave Song...
That is all.

Argyle Whale Stuff

How adorable are these prints from Argyle Whale? I love the Infinite Lemmings one the most.
I just wish they came on tee-shirts....
