Lupe Fiasco

In this picture he may look like another irritating hipster rapper but Lupe Fiasco is actually the Saviour of modern hip-hop. His songs address issues such as refugees, gang wars, corrupt police, the exploitation of indigenous Americans, child soldiers, terrorism, violent video games and their affect on kids the list goes on. Here are two of the music videos...
Little Weapon the best song of 2007 (video is made up of parts of the movie Blood Diamond so is quite violent)
American Terrorist this song needs repeated listens almost every single lyric references an issue that could be discussed for hours.

Thanks everyone for all the comments...

R.I.P. Seth Fisher

This post is dedicated to the legendary Seth Fisher. Sure he died in 2006 but back then I hadn't read such awesomeness as Vertigo Pop:Tokyo and Happydale....above are some of his pictures (just so you know what comic nerds are missing) it's a pity there won't be more.

Omg! Lia?

How awesome is this handmade jewelery? Very awesome I say....Plus the designer Lia is an Environmentalist and Feminist and she makes most of the jewelery out of recycled materials. This is a link to her site.Love it!

Deth P. Sun

"In The Cove"
"Believer"

I am in love with these beautiful eerie pictures by Deth P. Sun. There were so many amazing images on his site I just couldn't post enough so make sure you bookmark it. Most of the pictures are of these cats but there are wolves, whales, mountains and Zodiac themed images also.

Lightspeed Champion

I love you Dev Hynes!!! I don't think he can hear me. Yeah this guy has just redefined pop...I no longer think of synthesized vocals and nameless backing bands when I hear the word.
I just think of an acoustic guitar, a keyboard and love lost and found....
Go listen to the Champion on his myspace immediately.

New Era hats by Upper Playground

Once the domain of gangsta rappers and their homies but now the ball cap has been made into a work of art.....The culprits are Chris Lee (skipping people with chainsaws?!) Dora Drimalas (the little bat) and the creator of my personal favourite (the blossom tree), Sam Flores. You can get them all for some outrageous price at Upper Playground.
Yah that is all.
